Greetings. It's been several months of trial and error with many many different "Linux in Windows" applications but we are very close to finalization. With the ever changing world of Linux and Windows many variations have developed since the writing of this first document. Releases are updated, DOS is unsupported by Windows and the like. We have tested and tested many different variation form loadlin.exe installs (requireing Windows 98 or earlier) to co-linux, vmware, qemu and other emulators to raw disk images and partitions. We are currently waiting on the results of some installations and we are compiling all information gathered to present only the best for our readers. Please stay tuned and we will have all our links and data up shortly. -The LinDux Team Welcome to the official LinDUX (Linux on Windows) site. The purpose of this site is to educate and inform Microsoft Windows users of the benefits of Linux. It is to be comprehensive and neither pro Linux nor Anti-Microsoft. It shall provide you with valuable information on Operating Systems (OS) and offer Linux distributions designed to run as an application from within or on top of Windows or from a "Live CD". Installation and operation instructions as well as links to other sites will be included. It is an attempt to merge the power and stability of Linux with the familiarity and ease of use of Microsoft Windows. This is not to say that Windows is not powerful nor that Linux is not easy to use but to destroy the myths that make users feel this way and bring about a harmonious co-existence of the two. [ENTER] "LinDUX"? Linux + Windows = Lindows - Windux - Lindux - Whatever sounds good to you! |
